FROM THE HISTORY OF SERBIAN MEDICINE

svati sava
We inform you that we will enrich the web site of our Society of pharmaceutical technicians with new contents. The emphasis will be on the curiosities from the history of Serbian scientific and traditional medicine and pharmacy. We will write about St. Sava, the establisher of Serbian scientific medicine and pharmacy and his father, St. Simeon Mirotočivi-Stefan Nemanja, the great ruler and despot who ended his Earthly life as a monk.
We will also write about St. Medicine-men (St. Kozma and Damian, St. Pantelejmon, St. Luka, etc.), educated doctors and pharmacists, who were proclaimed as saints by Early Orthodox Church. They marked the entire epoch, which lasts even today, with their work and personality. The significance of the cult of those medical experts is indisputable. St. Medicine-men influenced the development of scientific medicine and pharmacy in the entire world and surely in Serbia that changed its boundaries throughout centuries.
